Alexis Rose and 2 others, Philomena and Sienna, were the first three cows to arrive at CCFS. These three girls—who are still best friends—were rescued as babies from a stock yard shortly before they were to be sent to market to be sold. Alexis is a very smart girl, which as a result, has caused her to be cautious of humans- rightfully so. It took a full year before she allowed us to touch her, and even now, almost several years later, she still isn’t a fan of being touched- and we are okay with that! Though Alexis may not enjoy head scratches like her sisters, she is happy sitting back and observing the antics of the herd around her. She can also be persuaded to mingle with humans with the right amount of cookies present!
